Artist Statement

"I try to make things that I like.  After many years of looking at art, contemporary art in particular, I am most taken with work that is abstract, that has little or no recognizable imagery and has “something else” about it; some arrangement of formal qualities that grabs me.  My primary media for trying to achieve that “something else” are monotype and oil paintings."
