The frame of this painting is
what the artist calls a 'framing device' composed of paper
collage and paint on the canvas with illusionistic, trompe d'oeil
effects that are surprisingly effective in fooling the eye into
believing there is a physical frame. The internal image is a series of
floating rectangular shapes that call up suggestions of a Pablo
Picasso's Synthetic Cubism but with a minimalism reminiscent of the
Suprematism of Kasimir Malevich.
